From one man's vision

Charles Wells was a Captain at sea in 1866. When he fell in love with Josephine Grimbly, her father’s wishes were simple. If Charles wanted to marry Josephine, he needed a safer career on land.

And so, he bought a brewery in Bedford and his first 32 pubs.
