Brewpoint’s much-loved sessionable pale ale, Foghorn, has scooped Gold as Category Champion at the prestigious regional Society of Independent Brewers Association (SIBA)Indie Beer Awards 2025.
In taking home the regional title, Foghorn, and Brewpoint, will be represent the East of England at the national finals in Liverpool next March.
The award recognises Foghorn as the best Keg Session Pale Ale (up to 4.4%) and will see the Bedford-brewed beer go head-to-head with champions from across the country at BeerX, the UK’s biggest beer and brewing event.
Often referred to as the “Brewers’ Choice” awards, the SIBA Independent Beer Awards are judged by fellow brewers and leading industry experts. They celebrate the very best of the UK’s independent beer scene, making Foghorn’s Gold medal a significant accolade for Brewpoint and Wells & Co.
Tom Foddy, Commercial Director at Wells & Co, said: “We’re incredibly proud that a beer brewed right here in Bedford has gone on to be recognised as the best in the East of England. Foghorn is a true team effort and shows exactly what we’re about at Brewpoint — modern beers with character, brewed with passion. To now have the chance to represent our region at BeerX is something really special, and we can’t wait to see Foghorn compete on the national stage.”
Foghorn is a hazy, sessionable American-style IPA with gentle pine notes leading to bursts of stonefruit and citrus, finishing crisp and refreshing. At under 4.4% ABV, it delivers bold flavour in an easy-drinking package.
This win cements Bedfordshire’s Brewpoint as a rising star in the independent brewing scene and puts Foghorn firmly in the spotlight as it competes for national glory.
For those wanting to savour a sip of the award-winning beer, Foghorn is available on draft at several Wells & Co sites across Bedford and beyond, including Brewpoint, The Gordon Arms, d’Parys and The Park.
