Cox’s Yard, one of Stratford-upon-Avon’s most iconic riverside pubs, has reopened this month (July) after an exciting refurbishment project.
The £355k upgrade has elevated the pub experience for locals and visitors alike – all while preserving the warm, welcoming character that Cox’s Yard has become synonymous with.
As part of the works, the internal layout of the site has been reconfigured, with the introduction of new furnishings to provide more areas for customers to socialise with friends and family. A new enclosed outdoor area has been created, meaning customers can continue to benefit from the external terrace whatever the British weather conjures up.
To cement Cox’s Yard’s reputation as one of the best venues for bringing the local community together, two state-of-the-art interactive darts lanes have been installed as part of the refurbishment. Customers will be able to channel their inner Luke Littler and manifest the powers of mighty Michael van Gerwen, all while enjoying the high-quality food and drink on offer. As well as new interactive darts, a shuffleboard table has also been introduced, creating a hub for competitive socialising in the town.
As part of the refurb, we are excited to introduced Quill & Cup, an independent café and relaxed dining space located adjacent to the pub. Warm, welcoming and full of flavour, it’s a place where customers can start their day with coffee, unwind over seasonal lunches or enjoy a relaxed drink and bite before the theatre – all just steps from a scenic riverside stroll.
Fusing Stratford-Upon-Avon’s rich literary spirit with a modern café aesthetic, Quill & Cup is set to become a new local favourite. Its signature offer? Comforting, creative dishes made with fresh, quality ingredients and a standout crumble menu that gives the humble dessert a new spotlight. It’s exclusive ‘Crumb & Get It’ is a love letter to the classic pud, with generous toppings, seasonal fruit combinations and irresistible flavour twists. All homemade, guests will be able to top their favourite crumble choices with either luxurious hot vanilla custard or delicious soft whipped ice cream.
